Prohibition Parlour at Il Salotto is thrilled to present one of the hottest guitarists on the swinging jazz scene — Lorenzo Cortés, visiting us all the way from France.
Colombian-born Lorenzo Cortés plays with a hot, swinging Charlie Christian and Eddie Lang style that evokes the vibrant 1930s Parisian jazz scene — brought vividly to the present day with a freshness and personality that is entirely his own. He is joined for this special evening by Glasgow’s award-winning bassist Timmy Allan and the irresistibly swinging piano stylings of Campbell Normand.
The band has been carefully selected by Speakeasy Sounds, renowned for curating outstanding live music experiences and bringing world-class musicians to intimate venues across Scotland — ensuring exceptional quality, authenticity, and atmosphere from the very first note.

Lorenzo Cortés is one of the most exciting guitarists working in jazz today. Born in Colombia and now based in France, his playing draws deep from the well of 1930s swing — think Charlie Christian, Eddie Lang — while carrying a warmth and spontaneity that feels completely alive in the room. Timmy Allan is one of Glasgow’s own award-winning jazz musicians, a familiar and beloved presence on the Scottish scene. Campbell Normand brings it all together with piano playing that is, quite simply, the swingingest thing in the room.

Ali, an award-winning jazz singer, has performed across the globe and, together with the team at Speakeasy Sounds, has been instrumental in bringing some of the world's most electrifying jazz talent to Scotland. Sara has spent over 15 years producing standout events for the design industry across Europe and the UK, shaping unforgettable experiences and creative communities.
