The microvasculature as a regulator of brain and corony blood flow in health and disease
The role of capillary pericytes in regulating blood flow: in the brain physiologically or after ischaemia, and in Alzheimer's disease, and in the heart after ischaemia and with remote ischaemic preconditioning. Understanding the role of pericytes in blood flow regulation opens up new therapeutic targets based on regulation of pericyte calcium concentration and of activation of GLP-1 receptors.
