About this Event
The WCIT Pro Bono panel is pleased to invite WCIT members and friends to attend its second Pro Bono Exchange meeting on Wednesday 27 May at 6.30pm, in the Gold Room or remotely via Teams.
The session will feature Nadiyah Akoo, Resource Development and Operations Lead at APPEAL - the leading charity fighting miscarriages of justice and driving reform of the criminal justice system. Nadiyah will be joined by WCIT volunteers Gilbert Pant and Adam Kenningham-Brown.
Together they will share how WCIT volunteers helped APPEAL in reviewing and strengthening its IT environment, including planning system upgrades, procuring new laptops, obtaining Cyber Essentials certification and securing sensitive legal documents within a searchable document management solution. All delivered at a sustainable cost for the charity.
The session will also highlight how:
- WCIT volunteers combine their deep technical expertise with the strategic insight of charity teams ;
- Multiple WCIT volunteers can work together to deliver meaningful impact for charities; and
- Pro bono engagement can help charities strengthen their digital foundations and operate more effectively.
