About this Event
From marginalization to myth: a Korean immigrant trans artist uses art as a path to freedom and empowerment.
PRNCX AVATAR WALKSHOP is a 6-week immersive creative journey using conscious thought, imagination, and embodied practice to create a higher-channel alter ego (avatar) as a guide. Through this process, participants walk through a mythic gate—shifting from inherited narratives into intentional authorship.
Rather than fixing or transcending the mind, this walkshop works with it. Participants learn to recognize habitual thought patterns without being governed by them, then consciously engage creativity, ritual, and embodiment to generate new internal orientation. The avatar becomes a symbolic and practical interface between intuition, clarity, and action.
This is a playful, open-minded, artist-led space for exploration. While inspired by wisdom traditions, contemplative practices, and creative process, the workshop is non-religious and not affiliated with any spiritual doctrine or guru. No prior artistic or spiritual experience is required—only curiosity and willingness to imagine.
Why This Work Exists
PRNCX AVATAR WALKSHOP was born from lived experience.
As a Korean immigrant trans artist, I turned to art not as decoration or self-expression, but as survival technology—a way to work with the mind, imagination, and embodiment when language and identity were not enough. Over time, creative practice became ritual, and ritual became inquiry.
Through performance, image-making, movement, and sound, I discovered that imagination is not fantasy—it is a tool for orientation. Creating and embodying an avatar revealed how myth can reorganize perception, restore agency, and generate clarity.
This walkshop translates that practice into an accessible, experiential framework—inviting participants to consciously author their own myth and walk through their own gate.
Weekly Structure
Week 1 — Witness / Threshold
Public performance by Yozmit. Six-week participants attend as witnesses, marking the opening of the gate.
Week 2 — Art as Dharma ( Coming Home to your SELF )
Artist talk, meditation, sound healing, intention setting, and movement. Exploring awareness, perception, and how the mind works with creativity.
Week 3 — Fashion as Medicine
Fashion and performance art as tools for transformation. Basic sewing, adornment, and avatar materialization.
Week 4 — Dance as Prayer
Movement and voice activation. Somatic release, rhythm, and embodied expression (yes, including shaking it out).
Week 5 — As Above, So Below
Symbolic systems and spiritual tools: tarot, astrology, mudra, mantra, and intuitive practice. Learning to read signs and inner language.
Week 6 — Abundant Flow
Sacred Economy, money, value, and sustainability—plus practical grantwriting tools.
The final hour includes a collective sharing and integration.
Later the same day, participants take part in a final public performance, sealing and releasing their avatar into the real world.

About the Facilitator
My name is Yozmit The DogStar. I am PRNCX.
I am a singer-songwriter, performance artist, costume designer, and gender alchemist. I use sound, visuals, and the physicality of the human body as a shamanic/theatrical trinity to create Yozmit as my higher-channel alter ego. Through performances, music, wearable art, and workshops, I share my artistic mantra:
DoYou — “Do”ing “You”: shifting power from external conformity to internal realization.
My work has been presented internationally across museums, performance venues, civic art programs, and festivals. I am a COLA Master Artist Fellow and have received support from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the California Arts Council, Arts United San Pedro, and numerous cultural institutions and foundations.
