About this Event
Local artist and printmaker Laura Villares House will introduce three printmaking techniques that use repurposed/found materials, and invites participants to use these to respond creatively to the churchyard and the nature that lives and grows there. Everyone is welcome, and no prior experience in printmaking is required!
You'll learn about three main types of printing, which all work in different ways:
- Monoprint: Jelly plate printing using natural items to explore silhouettes & layered natural forms
- Relief: Lino: Make a mini lino plate responding to a simple shape you find in the churchyard and contribute to a collective pattern-picture
- Intaglio: Tetrapak printing - find line-based form in the churchyard and scratch it into tetrapak, and make a print using a pasta roller.
Over the course of the afternoon, you can explore and combine the techniques to make your own unique, hand-made greetings cards.
Ticket includes all materials.
Please bring an overall or wear clothes you don't mind getting messy. Please note this is an outdoor session, so please bring suitable clothing for the weather on the day.
