Primary Maths for the Planet
Primary Maths for the Planet
Welcome to our online webinar where we explore how to make learning maths contextual and engaging for primary school students. Join us for a session filled with interactive challenges, discussion, and heaps of ideas for your classroom. Let's explore the world of numbers, data and maths skills while also learning about the importance of taking care of our planet. Get ready to boost your math teaching skills and become an Energy Hero!
During this fast paced webinar, we aim to help teachers develop their pupils’ key maths and numeracy skills through a variety of activities, rooted in learning about climate change and the importance of protecting the environment. The context-rich activities will describe opportunities to develop pupils understanding and critical thinking around numbers and data handling which aims to improve their overall maths ability.
We will:
- share best practices and ideas about how to teach this content through maths objectives
- hold space to allow you to form new ideas about how to approach maths objectives prompted by appropriate primary level climate content
- hear from our expert team about the Energy Heroes programme and our experience of teaching energy, climate and sustainability topics through maths
