About this Event

Cheers to Pride Month at the Moody's annual Pride Happy Hour!

This year, headliner Ben Chavez toasts to the community with a lively piano-and-song performance, following opener DJ Rosez. Attendees (over +21) can sip on complimentary cocktails, crafted by the Moody Cafe chefs, and explore the works Masako Miki and Nick Vaughan and Jake Margolin on view in our galleries.

About the artists

Ben Chavez is an award-winning songwriter, actor, and musician. Most well known for his breakout role in the Broadway National Tour of Disney’s Aladdin, he has performed on several stages across the USA and Canada, including Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and The Kennedy Center. Chavez is a regular performer at Theatre Under the Stars (Newsies, Frozen, In the Heights, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and recently performed in the Houston Grand Opera production of West Side Story. He is a winner of the 2024/2025 Performing Arts Houston NEW/NOW Award for his original concept album entitled Last Day, County Fair. He has performed at many prestigious Houston events, including The San Luis Salute, The Houston Symphony Gala, The Knights Of Momus Coronation, The Houston Ballet Ball, The Diana Awards, and is a regular guest on KPRC’s Houston Life. He is a proud graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Awarded the community's "Fav Female DJ" title by Outsmart magazine two years in a row, DJ Rosez is known for curating "Latin vibes" through a fusion of Latinx hits. A Houston-based queer Salvadoran, Rosez has performed sets at SXSW, Boiler Room, and worked with artists like Karol G, Bad Bunny, and Megan Thee Stallion. With a goal of increasing representation for queer Latinx women, she has traveled to Canada, Mexico, and El Salvador to perform her celebrated mash-ups.
