About this Event
We’re kicking off our summer events series with Pride celebrations for the whole family. Come along for storytelling and theatre with our panto dame, arts and crafts with local artist Hells Gibson, a banner and placard workshop, Rainbow LEGO, face painting and a cabaret dressing up parade to end the afternoon.
These events are running in partnership with The Toy Project, a charity that supports children across the UK, India, Africa and the Caribbean by recycling and upcycling unwanted toys, and funding toy and book libraries, murals and community events. Storytelling with Mama G
"Everyone's favourite panto dame" (Metro)
Mama G is an award-winning year round storyteller who uses the art of panto to encourage families to be who they want and love who they are.
Over the last few years she has performed at Pride in London, the Hay Festival and internationally. She recently returned from New York where she made her Off-Broadway debut with her own family show The Magic Bookmark.
As well as visiting libraries, schools, theatres, care homes, and festivals all over the UK, Mama G is probably most familiar for her appearance on series 15 of Britain’s Got Talent, where she led dame super group Dame Nation through to the semi-finals.
