About this Event
Location: COSLA Conference Centre, 19 Haymarket Yards, Edinburgh, EH12 5BH
Join us in marking World Children’s Day with a practical and insightful discussion on the importance of prevention in Scotland. From wellbeing and mental health to use of health harming substances, global uncertainty and the pace of technological change, our children and young people are growing up in a complex world.
You are also welcome to join us for an introductory session on 'What is Planet Youth?' from 2-3pm prior to the panel session.
- How can we ensure that all of our children thrive when we are so focussed on crisis management and not preventing those crises in the first place?
- How can we guard against exacerbating inequality further?
- In what ways is Scotland already prioritising prevention and what are the green shoots of success?
- What can we learn from Iceland, a country with the lowest rates of substances use among teens in the world? What are the barriers and how can we avoid them?
