About this Event
The P.O.W.E.R. Conference — Positive Outreach Will Enhance Reentry is Atlanta’s first Reentry Simulation & Post-Incarceration Syndrome (PICS) Awareness Event, bringing together community stakeholders, justice partners, policymakers, educators, and directly impacted individuals for an immersive and solution-driven experience.
This groundbreaking event offers participants a firsthand look at the real-life obstacles faced by returning citizens as they navigate reentry after incarceration. Through an interactive reentry simulation, attendees will experience the systemic, social, and psychological barriers that impact successful reintegration—while gaining critical insight into Post-Incarceration Syndrome (PICS) and its long-term effects on individuals, families, and communities.
Hosted by POD Society Inc., Heaven Sent Second Chance Transitional SafeHousing, Focus21 Foundation, Fair Chance Advisory, and Georgia State University, the P.O.W.E.R. Conference is designed to foster awareness, encourage collaboration, and advance practical solutions that strengthen reentry outcomes and promote public safety, equity, and community wellness.
Whether you are a justice professional, community leader, educator, policymaker, or returning citizen, this event provides a powerful opportunity to engage, learn, and be part of the movement to transform reentry in Georgia and beyond.
