About this Event
Discover the studio secrets to the success of Alice Woodruff’s 100 warriors.
Join us for an exclusive workshop exploring the techniques and creative process behind Alice Woodruff’s renowned 100 Warriors series. Open to all potters and clay sculptors—both hand-builders and throwers—this workshop offers a deep dive into figurative ceramic sculpture.
Alice will guide participants through her entire process, from initial concept and sketching to assembling sculptural elements like arms and hands. Each piece begins as two wheel-thrown vessels that are seamlessly joined to form a larger structure, echoing the strength and grace of the female form. With the addition of limbs and intricate sculptural details, these vessels come to life, telling powerful visual stories.
Participants are encouraged to visit the Warrior Women exhibition at Callanwolde before the workshop for inspiration.
