Corporate Pottery Experience: One-Hour Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding Event

Overview:Treat your team to a creative, hands-on experience that’s both relaxing and energizing with our One-Hour Pottery Wheel and Handbuilding Corporate Event. Designed to foster collaboration, mindfulness, and a break from the digital world, this immersive pottery session invites participants to explore the tactile art of clay through both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. No prior experience required—just a willingness to get your hands dirty and have fun!

Event Highlights:

  • Duration: 1.5 hour
  • Group Size: Up to 20 participants
  • Location: 112 Dundas St. W. Toronto
  • Facilitators: Professional ceramic artists with teaching experience and a passion for guiding beginners
  • All Materials Included: Clay, tools, aprons, and all necessary equipment

What to Expect:

Upon arrival, participants are greeted by our friendly team and provided with aprons and an overview of the session. If more than 10 participants the group is split into two rotating stations to ensure everyone gets a chance to try both pottery techniques:

  1. Wheel Throwing StationUnder the guidance of an experienced instructor, each participant gets one-on-one time on the pottery wheel. They’ll learn the basics of centering clay, forming a cylinder, and shaping a small bowl or cup. It’s a hands-on, meditative experience that offers a tangible sense of accomplishment—even if the piece ends up a bit wobbly!
  2. Handbuilding StationWhile half the group is at the wheel, the other half explores handbuilding—a versatile technique that doesn’t require a wheel. Participants will use slabs, coils, and pinch methods to sculpt unique pieces such as mugs, mini planters, or decorative trays. This part of the session encourages creativity and individuality, with lots of room for personal expression.

After 30 minutes, the groups switch stations so everyone gets to try both techniques. Instructors circulate to provide guidance, demonstrate techniques, and offer encouragement. The atmosphere is casual and social, perfect for conversation, laughter, and lighthearted competition.

Customization Options:

  • Themed Projects: Tailor the clay projects to reflect company values, product launches, or seasonal events
  • Catering: Optional add-ons like snacks, beverages
  • Extended Time: Upgrade to a 180-minute or two-hour session for more in-depth instruction and project completion
  • Finishing: Pieces can be taken home afer the session and finished at home with acrylic paint and varnish

Benefits for Your Team:

  • Encourages creative thinking and problem solving
  • Offers a tactile, screen-free experience that reduces stress
  • Fosters communication and camaraderie outside the usual work setting
  • Creates lasting keepsakes and shared memories

Whether you’re planning a team-building day, celebrating a milestone, or simply looking to reward your staff with something special, our pottery workshop provides a unique blend of relaxation, artistry, and togetherness.
