POSERS: Tuesday Night Life Drawing at Gallery 1065

POSERS is a weekly, Tuesday night life drawing session Hosted by Gallery 1065 + artist Mike Nearing. 6:30 - 9:00 PM. With the Initial September sessions having been a success, POSERS is back to stay!

POSERS aims to bring local artists together, provide an opportunity for life drawing in the Bloorcourt area, and promote life drawing and its benefits in improving your art and understanding of anatomy and light.

POSERS is open to all ranges of artists/life drawers, from those who are trying it for the first time, to career artists and life drawing veterans; anyone who want to improve. Mike is an artist with years of experience life drawing as well as life modelling, and will be present to assist and give any feedback if wanted. That being said, this is an open session, meaning simply show up and draw if you would like. Music will be played.

There will be one hour of shorter poses (2-10 minutes), followed by one hour of longer poses (10-30 minutes). We end the night with 30-20 minutes of show-and-tell. This is where we show our favourite drawing we did during the session, and after taking a look at everyone else's favourite creation, we tell which is our favourite. This section is optional, but is included because it can be rare to look at other artists work (particularly those working on the same subject as you), or to give and recieve feedback from other artists.

Basic drawing supplies (pencils, charcoal, erasers, sketching quality paper, etc.) will be provided, as well as Mike's mystery bag of drawing supplies in case you would like to try something new or don't have supplies of your own. Tables and/or easels will be provided as drawing surfaces. Gallery 1065 is wheelchair accessible! (street level)

Admittance to POSERS is $20.00 per person, each 2.5 hour session. Please knock or wave to enter when you arrive, as we lock the door for safety/privacy reasons.
