About this Event
Through Ink and Thread is about taking the time to create something meaningful with your hands, guided by two award-winning artists in an intimate and supportive setting. Surrounded by their art, you will get a very special behind the scenes of their work and process whilst creating your piece.
Using ink and embroidery on vintage linen, you’ll be invited to work from a personal photograph, translating thought and feeling into a tactile artwork you’ll take home with you.
You will:
- Be gently guided through ink drawing and hand embroidery
- Learn fundamental techniques for mark-making, shading, and stitching
- Reflect on memory, archiving, and personal story
- Create a unique artwork that holds meaning
No previous experience is needed. This workshop meets you exactly where you are.
The afternoon is carefully paced, with time for breaks, conversation, and quiet focus, accompanied by a curated playlist designed to enhance a sense of calm and ease.

Samira & Emma's ethos behind Through Ink & Thread
This experience explores what it means to archive our lives and memories through making. How do we keep moments alive? How does creating together deepen connection? Through shared process, conversation, and care, “community” becomes something lived rather than abstract.
