Join us for our next exciting PopUp PlayDate – Waist Beads and Bubbly – where we’re exploring the divine feminine through the cultural artmaking and body adornment practice of wearing waist beads.
First, we’ll learn about the history and power of waist beads from Ayodele of Duafe Designs, and then you’ll create your own strand of hand-crafted, high quality, wearable art that empowers your mind, body, and spirit just in time for the summer season.
As always, this is a soft and playful space with a curated, cultural vibe created to help us slow down and connect with our joy and creativity on purpose.

About PopUp PlayDate:
Playdates aren’t just for kids anymore. Adding intentional play to your week, PopUp PlayDate is a gathering space that helps Black and brown womxn break up the routine of “adulting” responsibilities with fun and fellowship.
Relieve stress and connect with your inner joy through a rotating variety of games, crafts, and activities. PopUp PlayDate is a sacred space for us to let our hair down and feel good through creativity, self-discovery, and connection. While you never know what each PlayDate holds, you can always expect to cultivate your joy.

About Ayodele:
As a gifted visionary, designer, and owner behind DUAFE Designs, Ayodele specializes in one-of-a-kind waist beads, natural shell jewelry, fashion accessories, and eclectic handbags. She is a self-taught artist with a keen eye and talent for her design, and finds joy in creating wearable art that transforms the everyday woman into a Queen, and young girls into empowered Princesses. She builds awareness of African culture, tradition, and holistic wellness through her services that include waist bead parties, facilitating sister circles, youth workshops, a rite of passage program for youth 7 to 17, and consulting. Ayodele Uses her art as a medium for empowering young girls and women by designing pieces that heal, encourage, honor, and beautify the mind, body, and spirit.
