About this Event
We're off and running with our second installment of Poetry on the Ave!
Recap: Each event will feature a local poet who will read and discuss their work. (There will be books for sale.) The mic will then be opened up to anyone who wishes to share a poem*.
Join us to meet a local, published poet and share your work with friends.
This month's poet is Darryl Foto.
Darryl Foto
"Lessons in Chasing Paper Cuts" is the first book from spoken word artist Darryl Foto. It is a compilation of free form poems delving into the intricacies of love, growing up an outsider, mental health, death, and much more. The poems in this book serve as an embodiment of growing pains, portrayed through the lens of a black boy struggling to grow up in America.
*The first 10 people to sign up on-line will have a reserved mic spot.
There will be a sign-up sheet at the event for 10 more spots, as time allows.
Mic time will be 3-5 minutes per person.
