About this Event
Podcast Pilot LIVE!
Get ready for an awesome in-person event at BARREL HOUSE CAFE & BAR this coming Thursday, Jan. 22 -- a fun, experimental afternoon among some of Washington, D.C.'s most creative personalities.
This LIVE pilot recording session is your chance to be among the very first listeners for a new podcast -- a conversation about D.C. culture driven by the people who make it and some of the most interesting people who make up its audiences.
Hosted by Trey Graham, a D.C. lifer and an arts journalist with three decades of experience covering movies, TV, theater, and more. Trey was one of the four original panelists on NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, and is a recipient of the George Jean Nathan Award for drama criticism.
This still-untitled podcast (come help us name it!) is an arts and pop-culture show, sure. Unlike some, though, it doesn't center exclusively on the famous or infamous.
Aimed at providing more context and less criticism, each episode is co-anchored by a D.C. personality our host finds fascinating -- sometimes a culture-maker, but most times not. Together, Trey and this ever-changing Plus One will sit with the city’s sharpest, most passionate creative voices for candid conversations as they swap stories, spill secrets, and unpack the productions, personalities, and politics lighting up our screens and stages.
Smart, playful, and unapologetically grounded in the nation's capital, this is the conversation the DMV's arts community deserves.
Bring your computer (there's free Wifi), grab a snack or coffee (we love the empanadas), and join us as we try this thing out.
