The Christmas calendar officially kicks off in Plymouth with the switch on of this year’s spectacular Christmas lights in the city centre on Thursday 14 November.There will be a line-up of brilliant performances from local schools and community groups, including singing and dance, plus live music from 10 piece hi-energy soul and funk band, Joey the Lips.
Don’t miss the big switch-on moment due to take place between 6.20pm and 6.30pm, with the Lord Mayor, Santa and special guests including: Snow White from the Theatre Royal Panto, and three players from Plymouth Argyle Football Club Women’s Team.
The event marks the start of the Christmas late-night shopping period where many shops will be open until 9pm every Thursday until 19 December.
The Plymouth City Centre Christmas Lights Switch On is sponsored by Morgan Sindall Construction, run by the Plymouth City Centre Company and is part-funded by the UK government Shared Prosperity Fund.
