About this Event
Event theme:
What draws us into a photo book? Before we turn the first page, we are already forming impressions through the cover image, the title, the typography, and the material in our hands.
This session focuses on those first encounters. How do covers and titles shape expectation or set the tone? When do they reflect what is inside, and when do they create tension with it?
We will also consider the moment of opening a book and how those first pages begin to guide the way we read.
Please take note of our event rules:
- If you sign up and need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.
- Jump in and share your thoughts - this event is all about participation, it's not a lecture. We're here for open discussion so expect to get involved.
- This is a no-promo zone. We want a safe space for artists, creators and photo book lovers to connect, so please refrain from pitching or promoting your own work. Feel free to share personal insights respectfully, but keep the focus on discussion, not self-promotion.
- Bringing a book is encouraged but not required. We will be discussing books and there are books available at Bildband if you would like to use one for our chat. Additionally, feel free to share a book you might have found online if you don't have a physical copy.
