And we’ve paired up once again with Concierge Ballroom to bring in a very special guest, AllStar West Coast Swing Dancer, Emily Hung, to teach a fun concept-based class on Musical Structure and Grooving! Join us for this All-Level workshop to learn the structures behind the music across different genres that you might come across in your west coast swing journey. No partners required, but some basic understanding of WCS is recommended to make the most of this class!
If you’ve never done west coast swing before, no sweat! Join our complimentary beginner crash course lesson that will get you ready to hit the dance floor just in time for our social!

⭐ So you think you have two left feet?
We got you! Come join our complimentary beginner lesson from 8pm-9pm. We'll show you which is your right foot!!
⭐ Need some hydration?
Social dancing is BYOB. You bring your elixir to stay "hydrated" and we'll provide the source of life... water
⭐ Gender identity and dance roles
As a de-gendered dance form, anyone regardless of gender identity is welcome to lead, follow, or switch! A number of us do both roles and it's twice the fun! As such, it's totally ok to dance with someone of the same gender - the only rule is: one leads and the other follows!
⭐ Should I bring my entourage?
Come by yourself or with your peeps! Since west coast swing is a social dance, you'll make friends regardless if you show up solo or with your entourage!
⭐ What should I wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable moving in. Closed-toed shoes are preferred just in case you get stepped on! (this is partner dancing after all) Additionally, non-grippy shoes can be helpful for spinning and moving on the floor!
⭐ What are the rates?
All-Level Workshop with Emily + Social: $30 (regular) / $25 (students)
Beginner WCS Class + Social: $20 (regular) / $15 (students)
All-Level Workshop ONLY: $15
Cash or Venmo accepted at the door.
⭐ What is West Coast Swing?
West Coast Swing, also known as Modern Swing, is a super fun, super addictive form of partner dance. Originating in the 50s, west coast swing is characterized by its elastic, groovy, swanky vibe and dance partners play off of each other's creativity and improvisation with the music. It can be danced to a huge variety of music including pop, hip-hop, blues, instrumental, urban, etc.
To get a sense of what West Coast Swing looks like, here are some clips by current world champions (look how much fun they had while improvising with their dance partners and with the music!):
