About this Event
Marshall Keys, Federico Peña and Mark Prince are a trio of friends who play well together, very well indeed! Playing piano, keyboards and keyboard bass, Peña constructs arrangements on the fly so tunes never sound the same way twice. Marks’ unique style of drumming creates heat with or without fire and Marshall creates sinewy horn lines that respond instantly to theshifting musical topography.
Before leaving Argentina for North America in 1984, Uruguay born pianist Federico Gonzalez Peña honed his craft under the watchful eye of some of Argentinas top session players and producers. He continues to demonstrate his superior talents working with an extensive list ofwell known artists such as Marcus Miller, Alana Davis, Grégoire Maret, Gene Lake and many others.
Mark Prince has developed into one of the premier drummers on today’s music scene. He is both a student of the legendary Grady Tate as well as a National Symphony Fellowship recipient, and his versatility has been sought after by artists such as Andy Milne, Bobby Lyle, and the seminal World-Beat/R&B sensation Fertile Ground. Expect to hear music from Marks well received album “Fraction of Infinity”

Marshall’s recent endeavors include playing in the Washington National Cathedral Band and collaborating with saxophonist Paul Carr in the Carr/Keys project.
He is firm in his belief that thanks to his collaborations with the world class musicians andinstitutions in Washington, DC, this is the most productive and satisfying period in a long career.
