About this Event

The World Voices Festival, founded in 2004 by Salman Rushdie, is PEN America’s celebration of international literature and writers. Honoring our organization’s hundred-year history of uniting writers and readers to celebrate creative expression and the freedom to write for all, the Festival was founded in the wake of 9/11 to counter U.S. isolationism and broaden the channels of dialogue between the United States and the world.

The 2026 PEN World Voices Festival is a celebration of world literature and free expression. The 2026 edition will be the 21st World Voices Festival. Over four days, over 140 writers from over 40 countries will be featured in 40+ engaging talks, panels, readings, and activations in New York City and greater Los Angeles.

Visit for more information about the entire festival, as well as PEN America.

For unlimited access to all festival events in New York City, purchase a Festival Pass! For just $75, you’ll receive entry to as many of the 40+ events as you’d like to attend.

We have attempted to keep the process as simple as possible. Please see our step by step guide below:

  • Purchase your festival pass for $75 + fees, via the link at the top right of this page, using an email address you are able to access.
  • After purchasing your festival pass, you will receive an email from our Box Office team providing you with your own unique code.
  • You can then use your unique code on any individual event's Eventbrite page, and you will unlock the ability to RSVP (for free) for any of our ticketed events (while spots are available). Your RSVP guarantees you a spot at the event you have registered for.

P lease Note:

  • Festival passes are for NYC events only.
  • Each festival pass is for one person, and is non-transferable. The unique code you receive and use to RSVP for events must match the name of the person who is using the ticket for each event.
  • All PEN World Voices Festival tickets are non-refundable, including festival wide pass purchases
  • Festival pass holders are only guaranteed entry into events they have RSVPed for with their unique code.
  • RSVPs are not available after an event sells out, so act quickly!
  • Our box office team at [email protected] is available to help you with any questions you have about your festival pass, and will send you more detailed information after your purchase.
