This event is for PAWA members only. It is easy to join at
Join PAWA in the Skagit valley tulip fields for a great day of painting. Your choice of painting in the tulip fields or near the surrounding the colorful rows of tulip displays, in shade or full sun, all around RoozenGaarde farm and facilities.
Easy access to the fields with parking included with your paid entry ticket (details below). Then have access to restrooms, food and more, throughout the day. I had so much fun painting last year that I am facilitating it this year. It is a "not to be missed'' paint out!

Meeting location, date, and time:
Meet inside RoozenGaarde 10-10:20am (they open at 10am daily) near the Windmill. Plan plenty of time to park, enter at 10am, and walk to meeting location at their opening. Then all can disperse to different areas of the farm. Can paint near the buildings/facilities or walk into the fields on the main walking paths.
How to spot me: I have long red hair and will be wearing a hat and green long sleeve shirt (if not too cold for a jacket).
Lunch plans:
They have some food options to purchase on site but I usually bring a sack lunch. There is also a great co-op grocery store in Mount Vernon (just off I-5 highway) that has good grab and go food and drinks on your way. (Skagit Valley Food Co-op)
Directions:
From I-5
Take the Kincaid Street exit (#226), go west on Kincaid. At the first stoplight after the railroad tracks, take a right. Go straight through 2 stoplights and over the Division Street Bridge. Continue to the first stoplight after the bridge, taking a left at the light onto Wall Street. Wall Street makes a quick right turn and becomes McLean Road. Continue down McLean Road about 3 miles. Make a left at the grocery store onto Beaver Marsh Road. We are 1/4 mile down the road on the left. Look for the garden and windmill!
For those coming from the West
(Anacortes/Whidbey Island area), take Highway 20 East. Turn Right at the stoplight at the Farmhouse Inn onto LaConner-Whitney Road. Turn Left onto McLean Road and follow it several miles, turning Right onto Beaver Marsh Road (grocery store on corner). We are 1/4 mile down the road on the left. Look for the garden and windmill!
Recommended lodging/camping (even for one-day events):Lodging, if needed, can be found in towns near by - Mount Vernon or LaConner.

What should I/shouldn't I bring to the event?
What to Bring:Bring all of your painting supplies, a way to carry them from car to your painting location (approx 1/4 - 1/2 mile walk), a hat, coat (weather can change quickly so be prepared for sun, wind or rain), good walking shoes (will be on grass, gravel or dirt paths). What not to bring: Pets. Sorry they aren’t allowed in RoozenGaarde. Accessibility: For those with physical needs - they have accessible pull up, drop off area if needed for those who bring someone to park their car for them in the lot. Is there water, bathrooms, shelter available?
There are port-potties with hand washing stations on location inside the gardens as well as next to the parking lots. There is an indoor gift store and fresh tulip shop, but you will be outside in the elements all day otherwise.

Outside of signing up with PAWA, you will need a ticket to enter RoozenGaarde.
Saturdays the cost is $23 (including fees online) Parking is including with the cost of entry in their lot across the street. Follow directions of parking attendants when you arrive. No need to show your ticket to parking attendants.
Can purchase entry pass prior to arriving or pay when you arrive at the walk up gate.
