Spend five days immersed in jazz in Paris — then step onto a stage and perform live with a professional band during Fête de la Musique, one of the most vibrant music celebrations in the world.

This is more than a singing workshop. It is an artistic immersion designed to help you grow in confidence, deepen your musical expression, and experience what it feels like to truly inhabit jazz — not only in the practice room, but in real performance.

Throughout the week, you will work closely in a small group setting, explore jazz phrasing and interpretation, rehearse with a live band, experience the jazz culture of Paris, and prepare for a public concert during a city-wide celebration where music fills the streets of Paris late into the night.

For many singers, the biggest obstacle is not talent — it is feeling fully free, expressive, and confident enough to take up space musically.

This experience was created to help change that.

Whether you are newer to jazz or already singing and looking to deepen your artistry, the Paris Jazz Experience is designed to help you become a more grounded, expressive, and confident performer in a supportive but artistically challenging environment.

Why Fête de la Musique Matters

Every year on 21 June, Paris transforms into one enormous live music celebration. Musicians perform throughout the city — in streets, cafés, clubs, bars, and public spaces — creating one of the most exciting musical nights of the year in France.

As part of this experience, you will rehearse and perform live with a professional jazz band during Fête de la Musique itself.

This is not a simulated student recital.It is a real live performance experience in Paris, surrounded by the energy, spontaneity, and excitement of a city celebrating music everywhere around you.

Who This Experience Is For

This experience is designed for singers who:

• feel drawn to jazz but want to feel more confident and at ease within the style

• want to improve phrasing, rhythm, interpretation, and musical freedom

• are ready to move beyond overthinking and become more expressive in performance

• have little or no experience performing with a live band — or want to strengthen it

• want a meaningful artistic experience that combines music, growth, community, and inspiration

You do not need to be a professional singer. However, you should feel comfortable singing in front of others and be ready to actively participate throughout the week.

Structure of the Week

Each day combines focused vocal work with practical musical experiences, artistic exploration, and time to experience the atmosphere of Paris.

Morning — Group jazz vocal sessions

Afternoon — Free time or optional private lessons

Evening — Rehearsals, concerts, jam sessions, or curated jazz activities

17:00–19:00 — Guided jazz walk

Friday, 19 June

10:00–13:00 — Group session

17:00–19:00 — Rehearsal with the band

21:00 — Jam session

Saturday, 20 June

10:00–13:00 — Group session

15:00–17:00 — Rehearsal with the band

21:00 — Swing dancing

Sunday, 21 June — Fête de la Musique

Morning — Rest and preparation

14:00 -15:00 — Concert preparation

16:00 - 17:30 — Public live performance with the band

About the Teacher

Maja Savić is a jazz singer and vocal coach based in Paris with over 15 years of professional experience.

Her work focuses on helping singers develop both technical clarity and artistic confidence, with particular attention to phrasing, rhythm, improvisation, emotional expression, and authentic musical communication.

Throughout the week, she leads all sessions personally and performs alongside participants during the final concert experience.
