About this Event
Our primary goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive in-person event that celebrates creativity rooted in the local experience, and to create dialogue between artists, audiences, and supporters.
The impetus to form this collaborative body of work, and propose it for exhibition, is the desire to better understand the personal and cultural events that shaped it's artists — as both the witnesses and storytellers.
PARADISE is an invitation to examine and better understand our shared heritage, New Zealand's changing cultural identity and deep personal storytelling through the lens of the artistic. Through painting, mixed media, and design we reconnect with stories from our past — sometimes fragmented, sometimes overlapping, sometimes reimagined.
