About this Event
Twins by Claris Park
Directed by Justin Jain
Monday June 3 at 7pm - Asian Arts Initiative, Studio D
Maggie and Soojung are sisters. Twins, in fact, raised an ocean apart. Reunited on a floating house on a lake, the two women do everything long lost sisters do - trade food, think of their dead maternal figures, and play 20 questions. But what exactly can blood learn from blood after two decades of radio silence? Are they really so different that they need to play a kitschy NY Times sanctioned first date ice breaker?
They're twins.
Presented by Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists
ABOUT PAPA. Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists (PAPA) is a member-based community and arts organization that provides wholistic artist care for 100+ Asian and Asian American artists in the Philadelphia area. Through social events, residency and professional development programs, grassroots organizing, and performance opportunities, we hope to empower our members and reflect the greater diversity of this city and its stories.
ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHTS PROJECT. PAPA Playwrights Project raises up the voices of emerging Asian and Asian American playwrights in our city with Lead Artist, Stephanie Kyung Sun Walters. Over the course of a 2 year residency, our playwrights hone their craft through workshops, readings, professional development opportunities, and guidance from a lead artist. PAPA Playwrights meet monthly to share drafts, work with local dramaturgs, and discuss local and national theatre. They engage with the new play development process and culminate with a reading of their work.
