The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) course is suitable for people who might need to respond to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses that they could come across when out in rural and remote areas where professional emergency assistance is not easily accessible.The Outdoor Pursuits 16-Hour First Aid course is an ideal first aid course for outdoor activity instructors, teachers or leaders and outdoor learning specialists operating in situations where a number of hazards may be present or help may be up to a few hours away. This includes: water sports instructors and sailing, kayaking and canoeing leaders, as well as mountain leaders, outdoor pursuits instructors and students, SCUBA instructors, Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) assessors, bush craft instructors, forest school leaders and anyone who enjoys hiking, cycling and climbing in the great outdoors. The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour course is aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 3.
This Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) course is delivered as a blended course, consisting of two parts. Part One is an online training module, which must be completed in advance of the practical day. Part Two is a face-to-face practical course taking place on 12 April. Login details for the online learning platform will be sent upon booking.
For attendees who also require an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification (RQF), this can be incorporated into the course curriculum. If you would like to gain the EFAW qualification, this is available for an additional fee of £15 (£18 incl. VAT) per attendee.

2. Outdoor Pursuits 16-Hour First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) Blended Course and Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (RQF)
Spaces on this course are limited to a maximum of 12 people. A hands-on approach ensures that attendees learn first aid skills and have the confidence to use them in a real life situation.
On successful completion of the course, attendees will receive a certified Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) certificate, valid for three years, and those who choose to complete the additional Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) option will also receive a separate qualification, also valid for three years.
Hemerdon Village Hall is located close to the centre of Plymouth and surrounding areas including Torbay, Exeter, Tavistock, Saltash and Torpoint.
