Celebrating 20 Years of The Alliance for Appalachia
For 20 years, The Alliance for Appalachia has worked alongside frontline communities across the region to support environmental justice, grassroots leadership, and long-term community resilience.
Held during the Alliance’s annual Week in Washington, Our Land. Our Home. is an opportunity to gather in celebration, reflection, and connection with old and new friends from across Appalachia and beyond. The evening highlights the shared and intersecting work of The Alliance for Appalachia, Appalshop, and Appalachian Community Fund through advocacy, storytelling, cultural organizing, and grassroots community building.
As Appalachian communities continue navigating flooding, energy transition, outside industrial pressure, and economic uncertainty, this gathering creates space to reconnect, share stories, and imagine what collective care and community-rooted change can look like for the next 20 years.
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy speakers and storytellers from across the movement, music,opportunities to connect across organizations and communities, and film screenings presented by Appalshop.
