About the film
Our Eyes See the Sun is an original documentary by the Akron Black Artist Guild that profiles BIPOC artists as they create work rooted in story, culture, and triumph. Through interviews, candid footage, and community dialogue, the film highlights both the struggles and the richness of artists of color in Northeast Ohio, fostering pride, inclusivity, and deeper connection across the region. Written and directed by Dara Harper.
