About this Event

The Holocaust is a human story that affected millions of people. Its legacies and lessons continue to influence politics, policies, and dialogue around the world. But in 2026 antisemitism and Holocaust denial are surging—online and in Tennessee communities.

To counter these trends, the Tennessee Holocaust Commission and Emmanuel Lutheran Church are partnering to host a day of Holocaust education. These sessions will highlight how the Holocaust affected not only Americans, but Tennesseans. Moreover, we'll investigate why interreligious dialogue about the Holocaust continues to be of critical importance.

Sessions include presentations from host Pastor Andrew Abraham, Rabbi Michael Danziger, Dr. Deborah Levine, Dr. Alan Steinberg, and Tennessee Holocaust Commission Curator, Alison Vick.

This program is open to the public. Participants will receive a complimentary copy of Elie Wiesel's masterpiece, Night, as well as a complimentary lunch and resources.

The evening will conclude with a presentation from Holocaust survivor, Renee Fink, who was rescued and hidden by a Dutch Catholic family in Amsterdam.
