ONLINE Metro Skywarn Training Class via Zoom

Learn about severe storms and safety, and what/how to report to the National Weather Service.
About this Event

Zoom link will be emailed at 8:15pm the evening before the class to only those who sign up. It will also be emailed 1 hour before class begins to catch those who sign up later.

Be sure to do the following BEFORE CLASS. Do NOT wait until class time:

1. Download the Zoom software to your computer or tablet. We recommend a computer as tablets and phone screens will be too small to see. Go to Zoom.com and click on Resources, then Download Zoom Client. Also available in your app store. If you already have Zoom, ensure you're on the latest version.

2. If you have never used Zoom, they do offer video tutorials or live training. Both are available under the Resources menu.

3. Download the Reporting Guide and Notes Page from MetroSkywarn.org (Click on Spotter Resources and scroll down about halfway). If you wish, also download the presentation.

4. Log in about 15 minutes before the training begins to ensure you can connect.

5. If you are able, please use your computer's audio. We are limited to 100 people in the meeting and using your computer and phone takes up 2 users.

Anyone arriving over 15 minutes after the start of class will be asked to reschedule.

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your sign up by the day prior. (confirmation email or log into Eventbrite). If you have difficulties in canceling these ways, please email [email protected].
