READ ON FOR ATTENDANCE INFOThese day meets are always tentative and weather-dependent, with updates posted nearer the time. These days can be either a walk or an indoor or outdoor climbing session.
Every month, the OMC holds a day meeting to encourage members and non-members to come together for socialising, skills sharing and to welcome prospective members wishing to meet proposers for their full membership application.
Although the day meets are structured to include and support those at all levels of their mountaineering journey, you are responsible for your own safety and must possess the minimum skills and equipment required to participate safely and independently. These meets are not professionally guided or instructor-led days. Rather, these are peer groups enjoying a day walking or climbing together.
Please reach out to discuss your skills and equipment prior to attending. There is a wealth of knowledge in our club that we can impart to make sure you enjoy these days out safely.
To participate in winter walks, you must have the minimum essential equipment and experience or have attended a winter skills course.
It is essential that when you come to an indoor or outdoor rope climbing day with us, you use a climbing harness correctly and own a helmet to wear (outdoors). It is strongly recommended that you have at least completed an indoor rope climbing induction and are comfortable using a harness and belaying a partner.
