About this Event
Olive oil is having a moment, and this June, there's no better place to learn, sip and celebrate it than at our pop-up Olive Oil Bar in Seven Dials, Covent Garden. Taking over the old Malin & Goetz store on Monmouth Street, it's the closest you'll get to the Mediterranean without leaving London.
Starting with a welcome drink, our founder and olive oil sommelier, Sarah Vachon will be your guide through 90 minutes of all things EVOO. We'll cover what actually makes olive oil "extra virgin", its nutritional benefits, and how to taste like a true connoisseur.
You'll sample at least three different extra virgin olive oils, from delicate to robust, and learn how climate, processing methods, harvest times and olive varieties all shape the final flavour.
We'll pair the oils with snacks — one savoury, one sweet — to show just how versatile EVOO can be, and hopefully inspire you to pour it even more generously over everything.
Sarah will share real talk on the olive oil industry too: how prices are set, how independent, regenerative producers are competing against a commodity market, and how they're adapting to our changing climate. Plus, you'll get a first look at the oil profiles to expect on shelves in 2026 and what's coming through the letterbox this year for members of the Olive Oil Club™.
There'll be time for a Q&A, so bring all your burning olive oil questions — no matter how obscure.
Copies of Sarah's debut book Drizzle, a collection of olive oil-infused recipes from across the Mediterranean, will be on hand if you'd like to take a piece of the trip home.
Tickets are £15 for Olive Oil Club members and £25 for non-members, and include:
- A welcome drink on arrival (non-alcoholic available)
- A tasting of at least three extra virgin olive oils with wine pairings
- EVOO snacks & bread
