Come for the art. Stay for the connection, healing and strategizing of our community.
About this Event

Join us for OLD IS NEW, a vibrant community gathering celebrating art, culture, and the future of Olds Cool General Store!

This special event brings together three incredible BIPOC women mural artists — Mykah Czarina, Sara Shoghi, and Curtia Wright — as they present their bold and inspiring mural concepts for Olds Cool.

Through colour, story, and vision, these artists will share how they imagine the walls of Olds Cool can reflect the spirit and legacy of BIPOC Femmes*.

But this isn’t just about art — it’s about us.

After the artist's presentations and we get your feedback on the mural concepts, we will gather in a fun but deep conversation on what it means to be a community.

We need you. We need your voice, your ideas, your perspective.

  • The Future of Olds Cool: Is You.
  • What does this space mean to you?
  • Who do we want to be together?

How can Olds Cool continue to grow as a cultural hub for creativity, connection, activism and belonging?

The Art Part will be hosted by the dynamic Kimora Amour. This event is part creative exploration, part community dialogue, and part collective dreaming.

Come for the art. Stay for the connection, healing and strategizing of our community.

We will have refreshments and a kids colouring area.

Help shape what Olds Cool becomes next.

* “BIPOC femme” refers to a person who identifies as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC) and whose gender expression is feminine (femme). This term combines a racial identifier with a specific, often queer-rooted, expression of gender, emphasizing intersectional experiences of both racism and patriarchal or queerphobic discrimination.
