About this Event

Have you ever wondered why a bird is the way it is? Upon reflection, they’re an extremely unique animal with an entire list of superpowers. How did they come to dominate our skies, and more importantly, where did they start? And after all that, what do dinosaurs have to do with it? Join us to trace the full story of birds over a history spanning millions of years.

The Winter Birding series is hosted by TRCA’s bander in charge and ornithologist Shane Abernethy. Shane has 7 years of ornithological experience and 3 years of banding at the Bird Research Station at TTP. He also produces the popular Feathered Friday series via TRCA Instagram.

This is a seated talk, taking place indoors at the Nature Centre at TTP.

Bring your travel mugs, all participants can enjoy complimentary coffee or hot chocolate.

Coffee is genrously provided by BirdsnBeans roastery in Etobicoke.
