About this Event
REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING ARPIL 19TH
Join Chicago for Chicagoans for a 2.5 hour excursion through Old Irving Park with longtime northwest-side resident Giovina Romandine. Giovina is a passionate advocate for being "a tourist in your own city," with years of event planning experience under her belt as the organizer of several city-focused Meetup groups.
Beginning at the landmarked former Whistle Stop Inn (NW corner of Irving Park & Keeler), the tour will cover the rich history, architecture, and landmarks of this Victorian-era enclave. Discover gorgeous turn-of-the-century mansions and churches, vibrant local businesses, and possible stops along the Underground Railroad before ending the tour at Eris Brewery & Cider House for a tasty beverage.
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans. Donate online fee-free at chicagoforchicagoans.org.
