About this Event

A Five-Part Class Series in the Seattle Underground

Take home 5 oil paintings, 2 classes with live models, and your own set of natural bristle oil brushes with the materials and training to care for them!

Every Saturday | 1PM–4PM | All Materials Included | Bottomless Mimosas Provided

Step beneath the streets of Seattle and into a glowing, hidden studio for a five-week deep dive into the rich, timeless medium of oil painting. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or rediscovering a long-lost love for paint, this is your invitation.

What You’ll Learn: By the end of the series, you'll walk away with the confidence and skill to oil paint independently—from raw canvas to final varnish.

Key Skills Covered:

  • How to prepare and treat your own canvas
  • Safe handling and cleanup of oil-based materials
  • Underpainting and grisaille technique
  • Color mixing, glazing, and layering for depth
  • Dry-brush, scumbling, and impasto texture effects
  • Finishing techniques: varnishing, framing advice, and display prep

What’s Included:

  • All painting materials and tools (brushes, oils, canvas, mediums, aprons, etc.)
  • Five guided sessions led by a working oil painter and teaching artist
  • Bottomless mimosas and/or cafe offerings
  • Access to a unique, creatively-charged venue in the heart of the Seattle Underground
  • Your own color wheel you can mix on directly for reference
  • A deep glossary of terms and concepts
  • 5 oil paintings
  • A set of your own long-handle natural bristle brushes and the materials to care for them

Limited spots available – come for the wine, stay for the craft, leave with your own completed oil painting and the skills to keep creating.
