About this Event
The Austin Community Food Co-op is creating the West Side’s first Black-led, community-owned grocery store. After years of dreaming, surveying neighbors, and hosting community events, we are closer than ever to making it a reality. Now we want you to be part of it.
Our info sessions are open, virtual conversations where neighbors can learn more about what we’re building and how ownership puts decision-making power back in our hands.
In each session, you’ll:
- Hear the story of why we’re building the co-op and the history of Black cooperative
economics that inspire our work
- Learn how cooperative ownership works, how it builds community wealth, and why your ownership matters
- Connect with the ACFC team and ask questions in a supportive space
- Find out how to become an owner and join the movement to open a store built by and for our community
- Together, we can reclaim food and build local power on the West Side.
