Join us on Ocean Drive on April 26th for a performance from Melton Mustafa Jr. Quartet as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free, weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 5:00 PM.
Melton Mustafa Jr. is a three-time Grammy-nominated music educator and quarterfinalist who recently performed at the Jazz In The Gardens Festival in Miami. Born in Atlanta and raised in Miami, he began his musical journey in high school under Mr. Frank Neal at Miami Carol City HS. Mustafa earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Florida A&M University, where he served as section leader of the saxophone section and head of the Dance Routine committee for the renowned Marching “100.” He performed at the Apollo Theatre and toured worldwide with the band. Mustafa also holds a Master's in Education from FIU and is pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Leadership. He currently teaches at Parkway School of the Arts and serves as an adjunct professor at Florida Memorial University.
These events (every Sunday!) are free and open to the public-- and will take place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. Bring your chair, blanket, and picnic - ENJOY! Rainy-day location is inside The Betsy Hotel!
