About this Event

The 2025 Plastics, Human Health, and Solutions Symposium

On behalf of the NYU Langone Health Center for the Investigation of Environmental Hazards (CIEH), and in partnership with A Plastic Planet, we are pleased to announce our second annual scientific symposium on Plastics and Human Health on Monday, September 22nd, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm .

This fast-paced day will cover the latest global micro/nano-plastic research on human health impact from leading scientists, with working groups to discuss specifics. We debate all recent developments on policy, the UN Plastics Treaty, and the role of law.

This year, for the first time, we also bring you PlasticFreeLand - an experiential showcase of the materials and products that prove nature and human-safe materials are already with us. We finish with an empowering session on the interventional work now happening to reduce health impact.

The conference will be held at Schwartz Ground Floor, SLHE, at the NYU Langone Hospital, 550 1st Avenue, New York, NY, 10016. We will also live stream the event.

For access to last year’s event recordings, please visit our website at https://med.nyu.edu/centers-programs/investigation-environmental-hazards/events

Light breakfast and coffee will be available beginning at 7:30 AM EST. Lunch will be provided. A small reception will follow the event. Please bring your reusable water bottles.

Full agenda to be shared closer to the event.
