On Friday 10th April, The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain will be throwing open its doors to invite any young person aged 12 to 18 who plays a brass band instrument or percussion to spend a day with The NYBBGB during their Easter residential course at Harrogate Ladies' College, Clarence Drive, Harrogate, HG1 2QG. Registration is free.During the day, you will get to work with one of our world-class music tutors in sectionals and play alongside the current members of The NYBBGB during rehearsals. You will also get the opportunity to perform with The NYBBGB as part of a short concert, under the direction of Professor Nicholas Childs.
This year's tutors leading sectionals and rehearsals are as follows:
- Cornets: Richard Marshall (former Black Dyke Band) and Tracey Lloyd (professional trumpet player & former Foden's Band)
- Flugels & Horns: Siobhan Edwards (Black Dyke Band)
- Trombones: Paul Kiernan (Whitburn Band)
- Euphoniums & Baritones: Mike Cavanagh (Black Dyke Band)
- Basses: Matthew Routley (Black Dyke Band)
- Percussion: Sam Milton (Brighouse & Rastrick Band)
The Open Day will run from 9.15am to 5pm.
