The NY Dog Film Festival is an annual philanthropic celebration of the love between dogs and their people.
The Festival is a two-hour medley of animated, documentary and narrative short films from around the world with a canine theme, and returns 10% of every ticket to a local dog rescue (in our case, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay).
This year’s iteration is sponsored by Purina Dog Chow with a new Service Dog Salute category welcoming films about veterans whose lives have been impacted by the specially trained PTSD service dogs by their sides.
Appropriate for older school-age children. This year’s Service Dog Salute films may be confusing or challenging for younger children because the films deal with the emotionally complicated issues of veterans with PTSD and how their service dogs have saved their lives.
