About this Event
Nourishing Champions: Side-by-Side Nutrition Workshops for Parents and Young Athletes
This event creates a collaborative learning environment where both parents and athletes gain insights into proper nutrition for fuelling performance and maintaining health. Nourishing Champions includes two interactive workshops: one for parents and adults, and another for young athletes, followed by a combined session for everyone.
The workshops will cover key topics, including:
- Balanced meals: Teaching both groups how to create well-rounded meals that provide the energy needed for training and recovery.
- Nutritional needs during training and competition: Focusing on hydration, protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins essential for peak performance.
- Healthy habits at home: Involving both parents and athletes in meal planning and grocery shopping to support consistent, healthy eating.
- Supplements and sports drinks: Discussing when, if ever, supplements should be used and how to choose safe, effective products.
- Recovery: Emphasising the importance of nutrition in supporting recovery and building resilience.
These workshops are designed to equip both parents and athletes with the tools they need to succeed together!
