About this Event
Notes on Detachment
“The things that trouble an adult mean nothing to a child.” (J.M. Barrie in Peter Pan)
As part of Notes on Detachment, an immersive analogue photography exhibition by Helga Haiman, Day and Night extends the exhibition’s exploration of transition, presence, and escape into a sonic experience. Centered around Haiman’s journey along the Camino de Santiago, the exhibition reflects on a state between adolescence and adulthood—where everyday structures dissolve and a sense of freedom emerges.
On this evening, the space transforms through a live DJ set, layering electronic music with the exhibition’s atmospheric soundscape of natural recordings. The interplay of image, sound, and movement invites visitors to drift between observation and immersion, echoing the rhythm of the pilgrimage itself.
Blurring the boundaries between exhibition and event, Day and Night creates a temporary environment where simplicity, curiosity, and detachment from the everyday can be collectively experienced.
