About this Event
A tape that owes its creation to the Harlem Renaissance and one of its most prominent writers, Langston Hughes. Influenced by his work "The Weary Blues," live the poet molded a coming-of-age story that echoes pieces of his own life dealings while paying respects to great poets before him who originally motivated him to write.

Meet The Host:
From spoken word performances to crafting intricate stories and melodies in song, live the poet has been intent on redefining what it means to be a musical artist in today's landscape. Inspired by the foundations of hip-hop, the blues, and jazz music alike, live the poet has found himself at the intersection of something beautiful. Presenting themes of mental health, heartbreak, black trauma, and the pitfalls of masculinity in an uncomfortable, yet refreshing form that speaks to an earned vulnerability that only comes from lived experience.
