Welcome to the 17th NOFOD conference from June 23 - 26, taking place at Stakkahlíð 1 at Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavík, Iceland! The theme of this year’s conference is Centre & Periphery: Dance, Identity & the Politics of Place. Hosted in Reykjavík, the conference takes inspiration from Iceland’s unique position. Often described as being on the periphery of the Nordic region, the volcanic island is also seen by locals as a central meeting point between continents. This tension of centre and periphery is a powerful starting point for exploring how dance practices and research negotiate hierarchies, belonging, accessibility, traditions, and transformations across cultures and contexts.
The conference is open for everyone interested in this topic.

This it does by arranging seminars and conferences as well as spreading information through discussions, performances and publications on dance.
