Most students know they ought to be doing more professional networking that they’re currently doing – but it’s something they put off doing due to shyness, lack of confidence, or just a general feeling that they don’t want to contact total strangers to ask about jobs. Sound familiar?
The truth is that people who build their contacts have a huge advantage in the job market. Research indicates that for every one position filled with an applicant responding to a job ad, many more are filled through internal referrals (people already known to someone within the organisation). The focus of any modern job search needs to be on connecting with others in a way that results in more opportunities coming your way. But how exactly do you do that - particularly if the thought of "professional networking" fills you with dread?
In this session we'll look at “The 2 Hour Job Search” - a straightforward networking technique to use Linked In to connect with people in an authentic way, massively increasing your chances of finding work. This method WORKS - even if you’re shy, introverted and/or hate the thought of “disturbing people” to discuss your career. Look forward to seeing you there!
