About this Event
HMAS Australia II or 'the Aussie' as she was called, was the second flagship to bear the name of our country and had a very different career to the first flagship of WW1.
Always in the thick of action and battle from the Atlantic to the Pacific, it won the admiration of all who served in her and our US allies as well. Join us to hear how HMAS Australia II became a controversial ship in the 1930s, then in WW2 - a M**der scene, it's part in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the final relentless Kamikaze attacks that could not sink her will all be told.
