About this Event
Overview:
You are invited to experience relaxation and peaceful reconnection with our precious Mother Earth through a guided sound journey of tones and textures drawn from the living world all around and within us. We Are Nature, and through that unshakeable, unconditionally loving bond we can find profound support and healing in challenging times. With the elemental voices of flute, harmonica, rattle, drum, chakapa — representing some of the oldest human-crafted instruments— along with chimes, bird calls, and field recordings we will create a space together where our spirits can be restored, our minds revitalised, and our energetic bodies brought back into balance. All you have to do is arrive, lay down, breathe, and follow where the journey takes you.
Preparations:
To get the most benefit from a sound bath it is important to come with an open heart and to release any expectations or preconceptions about how the journey will go or what exactly we will receive through it. Every meditation is unique, and having trust in the process is crucial for finding relaxation, release and connection. Give yourself a little time to transition from your day into the meditation space. I recommend avoiding emotionally agitating digital content, violent media, the news, and other destabilising influences before and after the meditation. Come as you are. Presence and openness are the keys.
We will open the meditation promptly at 7pm after a brief introduction. Out of respect for all the participants and the container we request that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle yourself in.
Payment: Sliding Scale $20 - $35
Recommended donation $30. Please use this tool of economic justice mindfully. Learn more about sliding scale here. No one turned away due to lack of funds.
What to bring:
Yoga mats and cushions will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own as well for some additional padding. I encourage folks to bring a pillow and blanket, an eye mask if useful, a bolster for beneath your knees, water, basically whatever simple things to help you get comfortable laying on the floor for about an hour.
There are comfortable restrooms at the Regents Center. Masking is welcome, check in with yourself and make the best choices for your own comfort.
This meditation is a safe space where all are welcome. Hateful or disrespectful conduct of any kind will not be tolerated. Folks of all ages are welcome to participate, provided they are willing and able to lay quietly for the duration.
