About this Event

You are warmly invited to join our human and plant community for an hour of sweet contemplation as we welcome 2025 together. In this time of transition, as we look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of a new presidential administration—particularly for our BIPOC, LGBTQI2S+, and immigrant communities—let’s nurture the essential skills of quieting the mind and listening to our inner wisdom.

This gathering offers an intimate and supportive space, and spots are limited to ensure a cozy environment. While some meditation experience can be helpful, beginners are wholeheartedly welcome! A few mats will be available, but we encourage you to bring cushions or anything else that will help you feel most comfortable.

About the Facilitator

Dominique (she, her) is a Bay Area native, dreamer, and lover who is dedicated to collective liberation. For the past decade, she has been honored to learn and share healing practices. Her former work as a Healing Justice Program Director supported queer and Trans survivors of intimate partner violence, hate violence and police violence through direct service and organizing to end criminalization. Currently, she teaches weekly Restorative Yoga classes and facilitates somatic healing workshops through Reclaiming Our Own Transcendence (ROOT) www.wetakeroot.com/healing-cycles-of-harm.

Her relationship to spirit and the natural world guides her life. As the founder of Black Seeds Project, she provides individual and group sessions in ritual with nature. Through these offerings, she weaves her studies in liberatory movements, psychology, ecotherapy, mindfulness and trauma informed yoga to explore more agency & autonomy.
